Who do you suppose made the planets and the people seeing them?

My long reply is this:

This is part of Deuteronomy (The Second giving of the Law from Moses). Even with the errant liberal theological dating of this book it is, at the latest, 1500-1600 B.C. As for the possibility that the Egyptians knew about this astronomical data before Moses...which I believe is your real point...why should that surprise me? The whole idea of the calf-god in the Old Testament is clearly borrowed from the pagan nations. God used Moses to release the Hebrew slaves from who???? Egypt. Moses was raised by who??? Egyptian royalty. You statements bolster my position, not yours.

Why? The Bible outside of Genesis 1:1 makes no claims to being the first religion or the only existence or actions of God in the world by God. It only makes claims that it is the Word of God to man in theological and salvational areas and the necessity of man to have a sanctified relationship with God. A God that is unique and singular entity consisting of three divine Persons or The Trinity. In addition the Bible, thereby God, makes claims to the fact that God entered history AGAIN and AGAIN after departing it the first time to in The Fall of man to make a Suzerain-Vassel Covenent with the semitic people known as the Israelites on or about the 3 millenia B.C.

As for the Astronomy of the Far East, It clearly post-dates the Egyptian.

It is clear you are confusing the phrase in this post with an errant worldview that presupposes God either does not exist or has no role in the world. 'Tis a shame. The arrogance of this position makes you look silly.

I would never assume to know whehter or not Moses borrowed this terminology from his Egyptian education and culture that he was clearly raised in but it would be a good guess that he did.

So why would that preclude that it didn't actually come from God when the Bible clearly says that God's Spirit is clearly on Moses and took Him out of Egypt in the Exodus?

BTW, Where can I see the testimonies of these ancient "people" you mention, I'm fascinated. And who were they?Andy Piersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13181241759268781794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3897143065671686552.post-9092783268695953592011-03-21T10:24:39.790-04:002011-03-21T10:24:39.790-04:00The "apple of the eye" is based on a mem...The "apple of the eye" is based on a memory dating back to a time when ancient peoples throughout the world which state that the planet Mars was positioned within the eye of God, which many attribute to the planet Venus. As far-fetched as it sounds, the ancient peoples testify that there was an alignment of these planets which created the basis for this phrase "Apple of the Eye". It had nothing to do with God, but instead was a celestial phenomenon which no longer exists today.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04533631881542365605noreply@blogger.com
