Three Denver Muslims Cheer For Tebow

DENVER-This is the story of three sports-loving Muslim brothers and how they boosted the career of the NFL’s most famous Christian.

The Suleimans - Tariq, Ali and Mohammad - are responsible for “the Sign,” the towering electronic billboard that captured national attention when it began running messages in September urging the Denver Broncos to start Tim Tebow as quarterback.

Many pluralists and interfaith ecumenical pastors and laity are most likely touting this as a "win" for their camps. A situation where love wins out over differences and division between faiths. Perhaps...perhaps not. What I do see this as is an opportunity to tell people about the Islamic faith and some of its finer and subtler nuances...and the danger that lies within them. The truth is people need to start educating themselves and realize just how deceptive and subversive the Islamic religion at its very core. While I do not necessarily believe the three gentlemen in this article are rabid Islamic Fundamentalist out to destroy everything not Islamic...the possibility is that they are. To openly embrace all Muslims in an ecumenical group hug is naive and dangerous. We need to educate ourselves in other religions and stop listening to everything others say about them. Many Muslims don't even understand the true tenants of their own faith (to say nothing of those naive of other faiths). If these men are devout Muslims (which I doubt as they are wearing westernized garb in the pic) this is called it "al-Taqivya". The word "al-Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing or disguising one' beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury." In English we call it: "Dissimulation."

If for any reason these gentlemen are indeed devout adherents of the Islamic faith then they are willingly and knowingly engaging in al-Taqivya. Many Muslims will argue that this is a twisting of the Qur'an by the Shiite Muslims and vice verse, the truth is that its practiced on both sides. As such, this means a legal variant allows a believing Muslim to deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts while they are under those perceived risks. When adhered to by extreme adherents of the faith, who perceive they are constantly under duress and persecution...they apply this doctrine in perpetuity or constantly so as to become indistinguishable from the real person.

As educated Christians we must discern carefully the source of people's beliefs.

1 John 4:3 ~ "...but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."

2 John 7 ~ "I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist."

Christians must understand that concealment of one's "true" beliefs does not necessitate an abandoning of these beliefs. The distinction between "concealment" and "abandonment" must noted here. Also, this practice is contextual and subject to circumstances. How it is used must be judged according to the situation that one is placed in. Muslims will use the guise of diplomacy to move their agenda forward only to turn on you later. Its called being a "sleeper". A proverbial Islamic Manchurian Candidate. A Muslims belief system tells them it is okay to lie if it propagates their faith and furthers their cause...

The truth is I am not sure which these three men fall on. Willing duplicity or unwittingly deceived about their worldview and faith. Regardless of what they feel, it is clear the media in this situation have their own agenda. To create a blended interfaith ecumenicalism whether it is intentional or not. The problem lies in the fact that it is blending faiths that cannot be evenly matched up. It makes Christians and Muslims look like "buds" (i.e.: Oprah Winfrey, "Islam is a sister religion to Christianity"). It as been my experience that when this type of interfaith ecumenicalism is tried or forced it is always the Christian that ends up being compromised because of the antagonistic nature of Islam.

What I do know for sure is that this most likely will be used as excuse to further pull down walls between two faiths at the cost of Christian doctrine in the long run...as is nearly always the case. In the end Christianity and Islam are NOT compatible. One is a religion of works that does not believe in the deity of Christ and the other is a relationship with the living God of the Bible whose Divine Son entered time and space incarnate, was crucified, was buried and rose again the third day according to Scripture.

Sadly, this article will also be used to show how Christianity and Islam are "pretty much the same" and they are "just like us"...when they are nothing of the sort except in a pluralists' or liberal theologians dream. Regardless, it is our call as Christian to make a discernment. If not we very well may be inviting the spirit of antichrist and therefore the sworn enemy of Christ...directly into our homes or in this case...on our tailgate without first having them acknowledge Christ as the Son of God.
